Adil Ali is a third-year Doctoral Student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at Fordham University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Virtual University of Pakistan and his Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Foundation University, Islamabad. Adil’s research centers on the cross-cultural applicability of assessment tools within clinical and forensic settings, with specific academic interests in psychopathy, institutional misconduct, violence, and extremism.
Clinically, Adil possesses extensive international and domestic experience at the intersection of mental health and the legal system. He previously worked for the corrections department in Pakistan, providing comprehensive clinical care to adults facing a diverse range of complex challenges, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and personality disorders. Expanding his forensic expertise in New York, Adil has worked within the mental health court system, conducting specialized forensic assessments. Currently, Adil operates as a trained Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) clinician within a specialized mental health court program, providing targeted therapy to support community reintegration for justice-involved individuals. Across his work with both general clinical and forensic populations, he operates primarily from a DBT framework, balancing behavioral validation with concrete skill-building to foster psychological stability and help clients process acute stressors. Adil is dedicated to cultivating a transparent, collaborative therapeutic alliance that honors each individual's unique background, upholding their dignity and autonomy throughout the clinical process. |
