Dr. Ashlee Trent earned her doctoral degree from Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology and her master’s degree in mental health counseling from Fordham University.
Dr. Trent has worked with people across the lifespan. Her work started working with children in schools providing therapy, co-leading groups and administering assessments. During her doctoral studies, she made the switch to provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to adults with a range of diagnoses. She has completed her internship at Auburn University Student Counseling & Psychological Services where she worked with students in the emerging adulthood population providing therapy, co-leading groups and providing crisis intervention. Most recently, Dr. Trent completed her post-doctoral training at NYU Psychiatry Associates where she worked with adults diagnosed with eating disorders, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression as well as other presenting concerns. Dr. Trent provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)/DBT) based therapy to assist clients in learning skills to better help them reach their goals. She has an interest in working with folks struggling with eating and body-image related concerns. Dr Trent is passionate assisting clients in identifying their morals and values to help them live in line with such. |
