The Child Wellness Collective

Parents and kids today face so many challenges that it can be overwhelming. It’s often hard to make sense of it all—and even harder to know where to turn for help. That’s why the Child Wellness Collective was created: to bring together three specialists in one place who can listen to your story, understand your goals, and work collaboratively to support you on your journey.

Here are just a few examples of how we can assist:

1. Co-Parenting Challenges: If your child comes from a divorced family and you share custody 50/50, you may notice they struggle to keep up with schoolwork. Teachers might report that your child is claiming homework or materials are at the other parent’s home as a delay tactic, and you might be seeing similar excuses at home. Let’s dig deeper to understand what’s really happening.

2. Health and Learning Concerns: If your first grader suffers from allergies and frequent ear infections, and struggles with basic phonics and spelling, you’re not alone. Many parents need guidance from both medical and educational professionals to address their child’s difficulties and prevent emotional distress caused by falling behind in school.

3. Understanding Evaluations: If your child has been referred for a school evaluation, it’s crucial to have a safe space to learn about the differences between neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessments. We can provide expert insights to help you evaluate the situation, discuss potential solutions, and empower you to ask the difficult questions you might hesitate to pose to the school.

4. Addressing Reading Anxiety: If your child is anxious about reading and is avoiding school altogether, it can be distressing for both of you. Phrases like “I’m bad at this” may be creeping in, affecting their confidence across various subjects. Parents often feel confused about the school curriculum and their child’s experiences, but we’re here to help you find a way to support your child effectively.

At the Child Wellness Collective, we’re dedicated to helping families navigate all sorts of complex challenges and find the right path forward.
