Erzulie Coquillon, M.A., J.D.
I am completing my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Fordham University, and I earned a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Boston College Lynch School of Education, a J.D. from Boston College Law School, and a bachelor’s degree in History from Harvard.
Previously, I worked as a lawyer, including as an Associate in the New York office of a large law firm; as a career advisor for students at Columbia Law School; and in non-profit organizations. This professional background enriches my perspective and makes me particularly well-suited to providing psychotherapy for law students and lawyers, given my understanding of the profession. My approach to psychotherapy is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-based interventions, attending to clients’ identities and socio-cultural contexts. As a clinician, I have worked with people experiencing depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and grief-related concerns, and I have trained in community clinics, university counseling centers, and an outpatient clinic focused on treatment of anxiety and traumatic stress. My therapeutic style is warm, genuine, and collaborative; I strive to foster the deepening of insight as well as the development of skills and practices for healing and growth.
