Julia Yermash is a doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at Fordham University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Global Public Health and Applied Psychology from New York University and her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Fordham University. Julia's research centers on weight stigma and discrimination in healthcare settings, especially for those with polycystic ovary syndrome. She is also interested in better understanding sociocultural influences on eating behaviors in marginalized populations.
Clinically, Julia has experience working with adolescents and adults facing a range of challenges, including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. Julia takes an integrative and client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapy techniques to support clients in developing insight, emotional understanding, and practical coping strategies. She values a collaborative therapeutic relationship in which clients feel supported in exploring past experiences, navigating current stressors, and working toward meaningful personal goals through compassionate, evidence-based care. |
