While the aging process is normal, adjustment to aging can be stressful. The physical and emotional changes can be difficult to navigate. Many of our patients are struggling with chronic medical illnesses, Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Cancer and the vast majority suffer from Depression and Anxiety. Talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Rehabilitation can all be enormously beneficial in improving the quality of this phase of life. Our services are provided via video platforms and in-home in Manhattan to make therapy as accessible as possible. Caregivers and family members are also significantly impacted by the aging process and are frequently part of the therapeutic process.
Some examples of what tends to arise in treatment:
Processing medical diagnoses (Dementia, Alzheimer's, Cancer etc.)
End of life fears/concerns
Grief and Loss
Caregiver stress
CBT for sleep disorders
Cognitive training
Memory retraining

Our therapists are trained in cognitive rehab (neuropsychology) and CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) in order to provide the best care for our patients at this important life stage.
